Poonam Tamang

Poonam Tamang has been actively involved in the development sector since 2022, working with several state, national, and international NGOs. Her advocacy has centered on the rights of persons with disabilities (PwDs), focusing on inclusive education, health, women’s empowerment, and employment opportunities. She has also been instrumental in creating awareness about disability inclusion among students in schools and colleges.

At Ek Kadam Aur Foundation, Poonam serves as a Compliance Coordinator, where she oversees the educational progress of visually impaired children. Her work involves constant coordination with students, parents, and educators to ensure that each child receives quality education and personalized support. She also monitors adherence to program standards and provides feedback to strengthen teaching and learning outcomes.

Beyond her professional role, Poonam enjoys handmade crafts, writing poetry, and traveling — activities that reflect her creativity and curiosity about the world around her.
